When the iPhone first came out, I was surprised that Adobe Flash wasn’t supported, and each time I attended an Adobe conference, it was announced that Flash was going to be launched for iOS in the next quarter.

As a web developer, I anxiously waited…and waited until Steve Jobs announced that Apple were never going to support Flash due to a variety of reasons, and that it wasn’t necessary with emerging new technologies and the introduction of HTML5.

So whats happened now? Adobe have decided to drop the development of Flash players for mobile devices. Instead it’s planning on focusing on HTML5 and providing features to developers.

The majority of Webology clients have asked “What is that, do you have a bird?” – the answer is yes.

Jo is an Indian Ring Neck parrot, who I have had since he was 3 months old. As a Christmas gift in 1999 my sister and I went to Kellyville pets and we came back home with what we now call our “Little Green Monster” .

Since then, while I work he is usually at my desk or on my shoulder keeping me company.

For customers who registered their pets in the past, and wanted to just book a service, they would have to go through the pet registration process every time for the form to be submitted and sent to Your Critter Sitter. Ideally clients who have gone through this process once, shouldn’t have to go through this process to simply re book a service.

The solution

We created a dynamic order form. Any customer who has already registered their pet, selects that they have registered and registration section simply disappears, allowing the customer to focus on just booking their next service.

As of 2011 there are 500 ooo ooo active Facebook users.

The thought that facebook was being used by only teenagers and  uni students is completety wrong. 35+ year olds now represent more than 30% of the entire user base, and this is rapidly growing.

57% of people talk to people more online, than they do in real life.

48% of 18 to 34 year olds check their Facebook account right when they wake up.

I could go on… Looking at these stats, people are certainly communicating different compared to a few years ago.
Having your own online presence and sharing with your friends and family is the new way of  connecting.

As of today, I will set up a Webology Facebook account. What am I going to put there? At this stage I am not 100% sure, but I do want to make sure that the information is relevant, and informative. People don’t need to know what I had for breakfast this morning.
